Bailey's Kindergarten Thanksgiving

Each year at the elementary school, they do a Thanksgiving lunch for the entering Kindergartners and departing 5th graders.  Before lunch, Bailey's class had a performance (including costumes!) with different Thanksgiving/festive songs.  It was adorable!

Garrett James Bailey

Our extended family welcomed a precious, new addition on November 4, 2009.  Edward, Nora and I made a road trip to meet the newest nephew/cousin.  It's nice to meet you Garrett James Bailey!

Trick-or-Treat

After seeing an amazing Nick, Jr show at the Fabulous Fox Theater starring Dora the Explorer, Bailey, Edward and Nora dressed up as Dora, Diego and Baby Jaguar!  We took a few pictures at the house and then took the kids for our annual trick-or-treating with the neighbors.

Pumpkin Patch!

Due to weather and time constraints, we opted for the local church's pumpkin patch this year.  Although there was no hayride, the kids had a ball and this year was especially fun since it was Nora's 1st pumpkin!

Jamie's Baby Shower

In preparation for Pace and Jamie's second son, we hosted a baby shower and tea for Jamie.  It was lots of fun and she got lots of adorable baby blue for Garrett!

Happy Birthday Mommy and Jim!

We enjoyed a great birthday weekend in early October for Mommy and our friend Jim.  First we had a yummy hibachi dinner with our family, plus Mimi and Pop and my stepsister, followed by cookie cake and a housewarming/birthday party with the Schuberts.

Bailey's Fun Run

Bailey's school did a Boosterthon to raise money and the kids got pledges for how many laps they could run (max 32 laps, which was just over 2 miles) during the fun.  We all went out to cheer her on and the kids each got schwag (glasses, headband, laces, wristband) for the money that they raised.  It was great and they raised almost $35K for their school!

Kindergarten Career Day

For Kindergarten, each child got to choose a different community helper and dress up for school.  Bailey chose to dress up as a doctor, partly because we had the costume and partly because she says she wants to be a "doctor/mommy."

Falcons First Home Game

We got Falcons season tickets for the 2009-10 season and unfortunately Ken was unable to attend the first pre-season game so I got to go with Darb.

Edward's First Day of Pre-K

Edward was very excited for his first day of school and the new green school bag!  (At their school each "grade" has a different color so greens are a big deal!)  :)

Dora and Diego Live!

We had an opportunity to see Dora and Diego Live at the Fox Theater.  Our pal Alex went along and it was so much fun. A dear friend also hooked up the kids with amazing Dora and Diego hats, dolls and backpacks.

Since Bailey started school before Edward, we decided to make another trip to the zoo.  This time with our friends, the Lovetts, who have Griffin (almost 4) and Greer (two days older than Nora).

First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Well, after five years, Bailey is off to Kindergarten.  She attends Kincaid Elementary about a mile from our house, but she also gets to ride the bus.  The first day of school was a little hectic, shall we say...Scheduled bus pick-up time 7:08 a.m., actual bus pick-up time 7:02 a.m.  As Ken pointed out, it is not the Swiss clock, it is an estimate.  I was leisurely getting my coffee, putting the baby in the stroller, etc. for our family walk to the bus stop thinking we had a spare 6 minutes.  Not so much.  We were about 3 houses away from the bus stop when the bus pulled up.  So much for pictures and a long drawn out good-bye.  We were basically running to the bus stop.  It was a great day though and Bailey is loving it!!!  The first picture is of her riding off to school and the second is of her coming home.  Maybe we will get more formal pictures next year!

 

Leslie Comes to Atlanta

We were fortunate enough to spend some time with our dear friend, Leslie, who is also Nora's godmother.  She was in town from Kentucky and we attend a baby shower for Jill and Adam Kaempf (Baby Nathan) and got a few pics afterward.
